BBC Worldwide, which was recently confirmed as the licensing agent for the Baby Jake brand, has tapped new partners to develop product programs around the CBeebies preschool series.

Children’s publishers Egmont will develop books based on the TV series while 2|entertain’s label BBC DVD will publish DVD products. Both companies will launch their products categories in 2012 and join already appointed UK master toy company Vivid.

Baby Jake was developed by Darrall Macqueen and uses a mixture of live-action and 2D photographic animation. Since launching last month, Baby Jake has been a permanent fixture in the CBeebies iPlayer Top Five and grew from 240,000 viewings in week one to 500,000 viewings in week two.
