Nickelodeon has named Jakks Pacific the multi-territory master toy partner for the Winx Club brand. The California-based toy company will manufacture, distribute and market a line of toys and other products based on the girl-skewing animated series that makes its US debut this month.
The Winx Club product line is scheduled to launch in fall 2012 to coincide with the premiere of the brand-new CGI episodes of Winx Club on Nickelodeon and will span multiple categories including dolls and playsets, role play, dress-up and Halloween costumes.
Of course, the Winx Club TV series has evolved into a global billion-dollar franchise since launching in Italy six years ago. The new agreement will make Jakks Pacific the master toy licensee for the property in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Venezuela.
Nickelodeon’s longtime partnership with Jakks Pacific stems from previous toys based on such properties as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and Blue’s Clues.
