Nickelodeon is ramping up its efforts in the educational toy space through new curriculum-based math kits centered around its Team Umizoomi preschool property.
The network is launching Team Umizoomi Preschool Math Kits exclusively at Toys ‘R’ Us stores across the US beginning in July. The kits will provide a hands-on way for preschoolers to experience math with their parents and incorporate math into everyday life. The kits will also be available for purchase online from Nickelodeon in mid-July.
Nickelodeon worked in-house with a team of educational consultants to develop the 48-page math kits that cover nine areas of math preschoolers should know before starting kindergarten: numbers, counting, patterns, shapes, measuring, positioning, sorting, classification and reasoning. The kits include portable game cards and an accompanying DVD that feature Team Umizoomi episodes.
Created by Blue’s Clues alumni, Team Umizoomi features a tiny team of superheroes who use their math powers to help little kids solve big problems. The series is currently in its second season.
