Cartoon Network has launched its second annual Move It Movement Tour, a summer-long health and wellness initiative aimed at America’s youth. The 10-week campaign, in partnership with the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition, will kick off on June 3 in Atlanta and travel across the country to 20 markets including New York, LA, Chicago, Houston and Miami.  The tour will ultimately make its way back to the east coast, concluding on August 10 in Washington, D.C.

The tour will once again be supported by on-air public service announcements, on-site activity stations and interactive digital activities. Joining Cartoon Network this year as co-sponsors are Crayola, the FDA and Columbia Pictures’/MGM’s Zookeeper, which hits theaters July 8.

On-site activities include soccer shootout challenges, an NBA/WNBA Activity Zone, mobile putting greens and Crayola-branded outdoor art stations. Also on-tour is a Cartoon Network Chill Zone – a themed area that showcases new programming, online activities and items from Cartoon Network.  The Chill Zone also offers a green screen photo activity and a Stop Bullying: Speak Up pledge station.

The Move It Movement is part of the network’s pro-social efforts to provide support and encouragement in the ongoing battle against childhood obesity through such activities as daily recess, health & wellness education and active after-school involvement.
