Discovery Communications has inked three new North American deals with Toy Island, Animal Feet and Cosrich Group for a new range of Animal Planet-inspired lifestyle products.
The three deals, brokered on behalf of Discover-owned Animal Planet Media by its North-American licensing agent the Joester Loria Group, will see a line of branded 3D puzzles and games, plush slippers and eco-friendly bath products.
Toy Island will create puzzles, stickers and sticker books, trading cards and games. The products will be available this fall.
The collection of children’s plush slippers from Animal Fleet will feature various animals from around the world. Starting this fall, they will be sold at independent specialty stores and specialty chains, in mail order catalogs, and at zoos and aquariums across the US.
Cosrich Group’s eco-friendly line of children’s bath products will consist of activity sets including bath crayons, stone paper sheets used to color while in water, sponges, fizzing bath rocks and foam pieces. Animal Planet bath foam soap, bubble bath, body wash and shampoo will also be developed. The bath products will launch at mass market retailers for holiday 2011 and will expand distribution in 2012 into department stores, mid-tier and specialty chains, warehouse membership clubs, supermarkets and e-commerce sites.
A portion of the proceeds from the products will benefit the principal partners of R.O.A.R (Reach Out. Act. Respond), Animal Planet’s national campaign.
