Focus Features and LAIKA, the two companies behind the animated feature Coraline, are joining forces once again for a two-picture distribution deal.

The first of the duo, ParaNorman, will be released across the US on August 17, 2012. The second unnamed picture is slated for 2014.

ParaNorman will be the second stop-motion animated feature to be made in stereoscopic 3D, following 2009′s Coraline, which grossed US$75 million domestically.  Currently in production, ParaNorman is a comedy thriller about a small town that comes under siege by zombies. The voice cast includes Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Anna Kendrick and Leslie Mann.

Focus will hold worldwide distribution rights to the movies and Universal Pictures International will release them overseas.
