Henson to rep Psyclops brand

HIP Brands, the third party licensing banner within The Jim Henson Company, has picked up the global licensing rights (excluding the Philippines) to the multiplatform property Psyclops.

HIP Brands, the third party licensing banner within The Jim Henson Company, has picked up the global licensing rights (excluding the Philippines) to the multiplatform property Psyclops.

The customizable one-eyed Psyclops characters have been striking a chord with tweens and teens since they debuted in 2009 as a mobile app that allows users to create animations and music videos synced to their iPods.  Since then, the brand has been leveraged into an interactive web-based music and dance community. The characters have also been the focus of branded iPod and iPhone covers (pictured).

HIP Brands will now develop a range of Psyclops-branded consumer products in categories such as toys, designer plush, apparel, home furnishings, stationery, gifts, social expression, personal care, publishing, food and electronics. The initial product lineup will debut in June at Las Vegas’ Licensing Show.
