Wild Pumpkin reps Angry Birds brand

Rovio, the Finnish company behind the mobile game sensation Angry Birds, has granted the brand's licensing and merchandising rights to Wild Pumpkin Licensing International for Australia.

Rovio, the Finnish company behind the mobile game sensation Angry Birds, has granted the brand’s licensing and merchandising rights to Wild Pumpkin Licensing International for Australia.

Angry Birds was first introduced in 2009 as a downloadable iPhone game and has since spawned different game versions that together have been downloaded more than 100 million times for the iOS, Android, Palm WebOS, Symbian^3, Mac and PC platforms.

The appointment points to fast-growing consumer products sector that’s becoming equally as important as app sales for Rovio.
