Oceanhouse Media has inked a licensing agreement with Soundsprints, publishers of Smithsonian Institution titles, and is kicking things off with the release of It’s Tyrannosaurus Rex! for iOS and Android mobile devices.

It’s Tyrannosaurus Rex! is the first in a series of upcoming digital books based on the Smithsonian’s Prehistoric Pals, Oceanic and Backyard collections for young readers.

The app includes original artwork from wildlife and natural history artist Karen Carr, picture/word association, word highlighting, audio narration and scene-by-scene custom background audio.

In related news, Oceanhouse will be honoring Earth Day this Friday by giving away its Dr. Seuss children’s game, Lorax Garden, for free for 24 hours.
