Canadian content honored by Youth Media Alliance

Canada's Youth Media Alliance will be honoring the country's English-language screen-based media content at the 2011 Awards of Excellence Gala, which will be held in Toronto on June 2.

Canada’s Youth Media Alliance will be honoring the country’s English-language screen-based media content at the 2011 Awards of Excellence Gala, which will be held in Toronto on June 2.

The awards include a grand prize for Best Program, nine Awards of Excellence, a Special Jury Award and the Special Jury Award – Digital and Interactive Content.

The Degrassi franchise and its producers Lynda Schyler and Stephen Stohn of Epitome Pictures will also be receiving recognition at this year’s event. In other respects, the Alliance will honor Bonita with the Outstanding Achievement Award and this year’s Emerging Talent Award will go to Stephanie Betts for her promising work in the Canadian children’s and youth programming industry.
