Vacation with Derek pays visit to Disney, Nickelodeon

Shaftesbury’s Vacation with Derek, the made-for-television movie follow-up to the company’s television series Life with Derek, has been acquired by a number of international broadcasters including Disney and Nickelodeon.
Disney Germany, Disney Italy, Disney Latin America and Disney Japan, as well as Nickelodeon New Zealand, VRT in Belgium and Noga in Israel have all picked up the 90-minute movie. Daro will represent the property in Central and Eastern Europe and English-speaking Africa.
Produced in association with Canada’s Family Channel, Vacation with Derek pays homage to the TV series that follows the conflicts and comedy resulting from the blending of two very different families after a second marriage. The movie was broadcast on Nickelodeon Australia and Family Channel in June 2010 and ranked as the number-one show for the day across all Canadian networks with audiences ages two and up. The movie premiered in the US on Starz Entertainment’s Kids & Family channel last month.
Shaftesbury has produced four seasons of Life with Derek and the TV series has been licensed in more than 120 countries worldwide.
