DHX Media has acquired the worldwide TV as well as licensing and merchandising rights (excluding Australia) to the new animated tween comedy SheZow.
The 52 x 11-minute series, which received development and investment funding from Film Victoria, is created by showrunner Obie Scott Wade and produced by Australia’s Moody Street Kids and LA-based Kickstart Productions for Channel 10. It has also presold to ABC Australia.
SheZow follows the exploits of 12-year-old Guy Hammon, a macho dude who finds a ring that transforms him into a superhero. The drawback is that his superhero ring is actually meant for a girl, so Guy must don a big-haired, high-heeled costume while battling his enemies.
