Sesame Street’s virtual bookshelf hits the iPad

iPad-toting youngsters now have access to more than 150 Sesame Street eBooks through the Sesame Street eBookstore iPad app.
The app allows users to connect to Sesame Street’s own eBookstore to preview content, browse its bookshelf and download all or select books directly to the iPad. The eBookstore is run and managed by New York City-based digital publisher Impelsys and features a collection of titles that cover 19 subject areas including letters, numbers, counting, colors and cultural appreciation. Popular eBook titles include Elmo’s ABC Book, Abby in Wonderland, and Grover’s Guide to Good Eating.
The app is available at Apple’s App Store and also via an online subscription at http://ebooks.sesamestreet.org/. Users can subscribe to either one month of full access for US$3.99 or one year of unlimited access for US$39.99.
