Children’s content development company Smartoonz is releasing its first interactive 3D app for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch based on the Monkey See Monkey Do TV series.

The  Monkey See Monkey Do – Savanna app,  developed by Snappsi and powered by iCore264, allows kids to interact and take pictures with the show’s lead character, Monkey. The free app also allows users to watch TV clips from Monkey See Monkey Do.

The move is consistent with Smartoonz’s strategy to develop its content for both old and new media. Its CG-animated TV series, which currently airs worldwide on channels including Disney Playhouse LATAM, PBS Kids Sprout in the US, TVO TVA and Knowledge in Canada, TV5 France, Hop! and PBS Thailand, is entering a second season.
