The multi-category return of 1980s boys brand Voltron is being amped up through a new deal between production house World Events Productions (WEP) and interactive entertainment publisher THQ.

WEP and its representative Classic Media will work with THQ to produce video games based on the franchise that will debut this fall. The games will coincide with the premiere of the all-new animated series Voltron Force, which is set to launch in the US on Nicktoons and in other territories worldwide.

The interactive games will join a previously announced toy line produced under a separate agreement between WEP and Mattel, which will see an array of products based on classic Voltron in 2011 and on the new Voltron Force in 2012.
