Two Animal Planet book titles in the works

Discovery Communications is teaming with Penguin Young Readers Group to publish two children’s books based on Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl event.

The books are scheduled for publication in February 2012 in North America and will coincide with the airing of Puppy Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday 2012.

One of the books, which will retail for US$6.99, covers all aspects of the event including players, main event, cheerleaders and the half-time show. The other, priced at US$5.99, is a sticker activity book for children ages five to eight.

Animal Planet’s puppy-themed event has aired on Super Bowl Sunday since 2005. The deal was brokered by licensing agent The Joester Loria Group, which represents Discovery’s Animal Planet brand.
