BioWorld Merchandizing is set to create Strawberry Shortcake apparel in the US thanks to a new licensing agreement with American Greetings Properties and the brand’s licensing agent CPLG.

BioWorld is working on two apparel and accessory lines featuring fleece, headwear, cold weather knits, bags, wallets and strawberry-scented shirts using the brand’s classic look from the 1980s and the new CGI-animated look from the TV series Berry Bitty Adventures, which airs in the US on The Hub.

The Classic Strawberry Shortcake collections will be available in stores March 2011 and are aimed at tween, teen and young adult girls, while the New Strawberry Shortcake collections will be available in stores in July 2011 and are aimed at girls ages two to seven.

Created and owned by American Greetings Corporation, Strawberry Shortcake has generated more than US$3.2 billion in worldwide retail sales since the brand’s re-launch in 2003.
