Disney Junior, a new multiplatform destination for kids ages two to seven that emphasizes social and emotional development, will officially debut on February 14 on Disney Channel US.

Disney original series Jake and the Never Land Pirates will anchor the new brand, along with fellow new series Mickey Mousekersize, Special Agent Oso: Three Healthy Steps and A Poem Is…, as well as full-length series Babar and the Adventures of Badou (Nelvana) and Tinga Tinga Tales (Classic Media). Current Playhouse Disney block staples Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Special Agent Oso, Jungle Junction and Imagination Movers will also air on the new Disney Junior block.

The Disney Junior block will have weekday and weekend slots on Disney Channel, which is currently available in more than 99 million US homes. And later this year, 25 international Playhouse Disney channels will be rebranded as Disney Junior. In 2012, Disney Junior will debut as a 24-hour basic cable and satellite channel in the US, taking over the airwaves currently occupied by SoapNet.
