Astral Television Networks has a new VP of marketing: Peter Furnish.
Most recently director of marketing strategy and partnerships at Virgin Mobile Canada, Furnish will stickhandle the marketing, interactive and research departments at the Canadian broadcaster after a recent rebranding.
His duties are to include creating multi-platform marketing campaigns for The Movie Network, HBO Canada, Mpix, Family Channel and Playhouse Disney, all with an eye to boosting viewership.
‘The recent launches of our premium television brands on the online platform reflects the continuing evolution of our business and increasing focus on interactive strategies,’ Domenic Vivolo, SVP of marketing and sales at Astral Television Networks, to whom Furnish will report, said.
Before Virgin, Furnish completed marketing stints at Labatt Breweries of Canada, The Walt Disney Company and Whitehall-Robins.
