In advance of Sony’s spring 2011 theatrical outing, US retailer Macy’s has made the Smurfs its 2010 holiday ambassador, making plush versions of the wee blue characters available at Macy’s stores across the country.

The retailer is supporting the Smurfs program with a marketing campaign that includes a TV spot, magazine ads, jumbotron displays and special events.

Licensed through Lafig Belgium, the plush toys are priced at US$14.95 and come with two bonus finger puppets while supplies last.
