MSC Malaysia’s Animasia Studio is coming out of last week’s Asia Television Forum (ATF) with a distribution partnership with Spain’s Neptuno Films that will bring ABC Monsters to the European market.

The distribution agreement for the 26 x 22-minutes series builds on the companies’ relationship that started with the co-production of Kungfu Chicken, which is expected to be completed in early 2012.

Singapore’s Innoform Media has also signed on ABC Monsters for home video distribution across major Asian markets such as Malaysia, Singapore, HK, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Since the completion of ABC Monsters in February 2010, the series has been snapped up by Canal Plus for the Eastern European distribution TV rights, C4U Media for Korean distribution TV rights, Latin Media Group for the North and South American TV distribution, and a major network for Asian rights to be announced later this week.

Looking forward, Animasia Studio is expected to launch a range of licensing and merchandising products based on the series, including mobile games, stationeries, apparels and home-wares for children.
