Branded entertainment company Big Tent Entertainment has inked a worldwide licensing agreement with Garfield comic strip founder Paws to create an animated, personalized comic strip using the famous feline.

Through photo-personalized technology developed by New York-based PixFusion, web and mobile users can digitalize themselves and appear in Garfield comic strips that have been animated for the first time.

Beginning November 29, the series of animated comic strips will be available on www.PixFusion.com with various mediums to follow in the coming weeks including an iPad and iPhone app. An animated comic will cost US$0.99 to personalize and stream. Other options are available that allow fans to download and share content for US$3.99 or get unlimited personalization and streaming for a year for US$9.99.

Appearing in more than 2,400 newspapers every day, Garfield has become the most widely syndicated comic strip in the world.
