US kids retailer Toys’R’Us has revealed the top four toy trends expected to influence purchasing decisions this upcoming holiday season. Identified after year-long observations of toy introductions at the company’s international stores and extensive data review, the top trends are collectibles, international playthings making their US debut, the rise of 18-inch dolls and a resurgence in the popularity of trains.

In some cases, the trends are reflective of some of this season’s most popular toys, such as Squinkies, Disney Princess & Me dolls and Tomica trains. Trends that have made their mark in past years, such as music and nostalgia, have also inspired new products like the Justin Bieber dolls and the gLee Karaoke Machine.
