European market soaks up SpongeBob by SpongeBob

Products based on new design line SpongeBob by SpongeBob from Nickelodeon Consumer Products EMEA are rolling out across Europe.

The line takes the SpongeBob SquarePants brand and uses it in a range of fashion-influenced designs for teens and adults. The approach is distinct from traditional SpongeBob SquarePants’ consumer products lines in that its creative direction isn’t directly derived from the animated TV series. Instead, licensees have freely interpreted the NCP EMEA style guide for their collections, responding with products that reflect current fashion trends and themes. Categories covered by the new deals include t-shirts, vests, hoodies, combats, nightwear and underwear and bags.

In Italy, Fashion and Building has launched an apparel line comprising t-shirts, polos, sweatshirts and hoodies for teens that will sell from US$45.50 to more than US$88.

In Germany, Giesswein Iberica has signed the brand for a range of Wellington rubber boots and slippers in a deal that runs through to spring 2012. The wellies will be sold across Europe in countries including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, the UK and Benelux.
