Portfolio International series head to Thailand

Toronto, Canada-based Portfolio International, the distribution arm of Portfolio Entertainment, has sold its two series Heads Up! and Spellz to Thailand’s cable and satellite operator, True Visions.

Aimed at tweens, Heads Up! (26 x half hours) is an astronomy series that explores the universe beyond the moon and the big dipper and introduces children to its magical content and practical context. The series is hosted by radio, print and national television personality Bob McDonald and is produced by Soapbox Productions.

In the live-action series Spellz (52 x 15-minutes), produced by GAPC (General Assembly Production Centre), children are privy to the mysteries behind magic tricks. Host and magician Jay Sankey spellbinds aspiring six-to-nine-year-old magician apprentices with the secrets of how magic tricks are performed.
