Nickelodeon has extended actor/comedian/artist/producer Nick Cannon’s deal as chairman of TeenNick through January 2012.
Cannon has been at the helm of the tween and teen-oriented channel since March 2009, where he has helped develop, produce and create original programming across the channel’s multiple platforms.
This year Cannon will host and executive produce The Nightlife, which showcases the latest trends in fashion, music, dance and entertainment. Cannon will also return as creator, host and executive producer of the second annual TeenNick HALO Awards, an hour-long special that pairs four celebrities with four teens to recognize and celebrate their commitment to service.
TeenNick posted its highest-rated and most-watched quarter ever with total viewers and teens 12-17 in its second quarter for this year.
