Disney recruits Guillermo del Toro for Haunted Mansion adaptation

Straight from the Comic-Con convention currently underway in San Diego, Walt Disney Studios has announced that filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, of Pan's Labyrinth fame, will be creating Disney's new film based on the popular theme park attraction, The Haunted Mansion.

Straight from the Comic-Con convention currently underway in San Diego, Walt Disney Studios has announced that filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, of Pan’s Labyrinth fame, will be creating Disney’s new film based on the popular theme park attraction, The Haunted Mansion.

del Toro is set to develop the adaptation of the original theme park attraction as well as write and direct the film.

The Haunted Mansion has been a Disney trademark since its construction in 1969 and has been replicated at other Disney theme parks in Orlando, Tokyo and Paris.
