Disney has ordered a fourth season of its preschool series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, with 13 new episodes and nine extended specials. Additionally, Disney’s Friends for Change has made a contribution to relief efforts around the BP oil spill.
Season four of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, for its part, will premiere on the recently announced Disney Junior, a 24-hour basic cable/satellite channel devoted to preschoolers that’s set to launch in the US in 2012.
The third season of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse will continue to roll out on Disney Channel through 2011 with new episodes, as well as the new physical fitness-themed short-form series Mickey Mousekersize and two brand new primetime specials, including the fall premiere of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally.
Meanwhile, Disney’s Friends for Change, a movement that encourages kids to help the planet, is supporting the gulf oil spill relief efforts with a US$100,000 donation to Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund and new video content that encourages kids to communicate their feelings about the situation and learn more about how to protect natural resources.
The video spot, which premiered yesterday, will run on Disney Channel, Disney XD, Radio Disney and Disney.com and includes messages from popular Disney Channel stars. A new collection of Disney’s Friends for Change online content will also provide tips, step-by-step tool kits designed to organize community waterway clean-ups and resources for kids to learn more about why these actions matter.
