BBC Worldwide has struck a deal with plush toy manufacturer TY to produce a line of Beanie Babies based on the Teletubbies brand, set to launch in the UK and Ireland this coming fall/winter.

As part of the deal, Teletubbies Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po will be transformed into 6-inch Beanie Babies (SRP US$9).

Since hitting UK screens more than 12 years ago, Ragdoll Productions’ Teletubbies has aired in more than 120 countries, with more than 50 million plush toys based on the series being sold.

BBC Worldwide is currently working on a number of new initiatives for the brand and will be announcing these developments soon.
