Astral launches French-language Playhouse Disney Channel

Canada's Astral Media is set to launch a French-language version of its Playhouse Disney channel that will feature popular programming from Disney together with original Canadian series, including the newly developed series Stella and Sam based on Quebec writer Mary-Louise Gay's books.

Canada’s Astral Media is set to launch a French-language version of its Playhouse Disney channel that will feature popular programming from Disney together with original Canadian series, including the newly developed series Stella and Sam based on Quebec writer Mary-Louise Gay’s books.

The channel will be available to Bell TV subscribers across Canada on July 5 and will offer services such as remote PVR, HD PVR and HD channels.

Playhouse Disney, a member of the Astral family, is a commercial-free channel offering educational and development-based programming for younger children.
