People moves: Sprout names new director of marketing

US preschool net PBS Kids Sprout has tapped David Robinson, a seasoned entertainment marketer with over 10 years of experience in television marketing, media buying and promotions, as its director of marketing.

US preschool net PBS Kids Sprout has tapped David Robinson, a seasoned entertainment marketer with over 10 years of experience in television marketing, media buying and promotions, as its director of marketing.

Robinson will be responsible for leading consumer and ad trade marketing as well as driving strategy to build awareness, distribution, viewership and loyalty for the Sprout brand. He comes to the net from games publisher NCsoft Interactive, where he led media and creative development to support key game titles. While there, he played a key role in marketing and digital sales for the launch of Aion, which was the largest MMO game release of 2009.

Previously, Robinson held various positions at Turner Broadcasting, including marketing and communications manager for GameTap and promotions marketing manager for Cartoon Network.

Robinson has served as a chapter member of the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association and the Advanced Technology Development Center at Georgia Tech, as well as a branding and media advisor for the MIT Enterprise Forum.
