Oscar nominees announced

The 82nd Academy Award nominations were announced today, with a number of notable kids players receiving nods.

After much buzz, Disney/Pixar’s Up (Peter Docter) has secured a spot in the Best Picture category, along with James Cameron’s Avatar. Up has also been given a nod in the Animated Feature Film category, along with Coraline (Henry Selick), Fantastic Mr. Fox (Wes Anderson), The Princess and the Frog (John Musker and Ron Clements) and The Secret of Kells (Tomm Moore).

As for Best Animated Short Film, the nominees are Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty (Phelan and Darragh O’Connell), French Roast (Fabrice O. Joubert), The Lady and the Reaper (La Dama y la Muerte) (Javier Recio Gracia), Logorama (Nicolas Schmerkin) and A Matter of Loaf and Death (Nick Park).
