Ratings Watch: Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon

Destroy Build Destroy took down the house last week at Cartoon Network, as a new ep of the live-action alternative series (Wednesday, November 4) brought in double-digit ratings and delivery gains.

Kids two to 11 delivery (554,000) went up by 13% and ratings (1.3) by 8%, while boys two to 11 delivery (423,000) increased by 16% and ratings (2.0) by 11%. Kids six to 11 delivery (419,000) grew by 1%, while boys six to 11 delivery (363,000) jumped 11% and ratings (2.9) by 12%.

CN’s Sunday marathon (12 p.m. to 7 p.m.) of Ed, Edd n Eddy also saw double-digit delivery gains with kids nine to 14 (up 14%), boys nine to 14 (up 16%) and girls six to 11 (up 17%) compared to the same time last year. Meanwhile, the Sunday night Flicks movie presentation (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.) of The Eds Big Picture Show brought in double- and triple-digit ratings and delivery gains among all kids demos, including 73% gains with kids six 11, 56% gains among kids two to 11 and 145% gains with kids nine to 14.

SpongeBob SquarePants and Fanboy and Chum Chum are also racking up the ratings over at Nickelodeon. The yellow one’s ‘Truth or Square’ ep (November 6, 8 p.m.) brought in 7.7 million total viewers, coming in as basic cable’s number-one entertainment show for the week. Meanwhile, new series Fanboy (November 6, 9 p.m.) set a new record as Nick’s highest-rated series premiere ever with kids six to 11 and two to 11.

‘Truth or Square’ was also the week’s top program on all of TV with kids six to 11, tweens and kids 2-11, averaging a 12.5/4.4 million with kids two to 11 (up 205% over last year), 14.0/3.0 million with kids six to 11 (up 204%) and an 11.4/2.5 million with tweens nine to 14 (up 235%).

Fanboy‘s debut ranked as basic cable’s number-two telecast for the night behind ‘Truth or Square’ attracting 5.8 million total viewers and 2.5 million kids six to 11. Its second ep, which aired on Saturday morning (November 7, 10:30 a.m.) also drew 5.4 million total viewers.

Its Friday debut averaged a 10.4/3.7 million with kids two to 11 (up 154%), an 11.9/2.5 million kids six to 11 (up 159%) and an 8.9/1.9 million tweens nine to 14 (up 134%). On Saturday, it averaged a 9.5/3.4 million kids two to 11 (up 70%), a 10.4/2.2 million kids six to 11 (up 89%) and a 6.9/1.5 million with tweens nine to 14 (up 86%).
