There’s a new preschool series in the works from New York’s Little Airplane and Spin Master Entertainment, a division of the Toronto-based toyco Spin Master.

Stella Takes the Stage, features a new animation style dubbed theatre arts animation by Little Airplane. The series and its unique aesthetic, developed by Little Airplane president Josh Selig, revolves around charismatic six-year-old Stella, who tells her stories through the medium of the stage.

Child development expert Dr. Laura G. Brown, who’s worked on such preschool series as The Wonder Pets! and Ni-Hao, Kai-lan, was on-board to help develop the series’ self-knowledge theme and educational curriculum for Stella.

The prodcos are looking to bring the series to market in early 2010.
