Waterstone’s and Penguin books find Fame

The promos are building in the lead-up to the re-release of Fame on September 25, and UK-based agency Rocket Licensing is spreading the word with a new campaign.

Retailer Waterstone’s and Penguin Books’ Ladybird imprint Sunbird, are organizing free dance workshops for kids in in Manchester and Milton Keynes on September 12. The two free 45-minute workshops come on the heels of Sunbird’s four Fame-themed books, and the first 50 dance fans to claim a ticket for each session will be able to participate in a workshops run by a professional instructor, teaching dance moves and choreograph a dance routine.

They’ll tie in with other licensees, which will supply prizes being handed out to the best dancers.

Penguin will be sending out an e-blast to its almost 4,000 Ladybird subscribers, as well as publicizing the workshops on the events page at www.ladybird.com. Advance notice will go out in Waterstone’s listings to local press, and the shopping centers housing the stores will add the events to its listings. There’ll also be heavy in-store advertising with branded POS material, including color banners around each bookshop and flyers at till point.
