Following Endemol’s acquisition of Southern Star International, the company’s ready to roll out its newly integrated distribution ops at MIPCOM next month.

Endemol Worldwide Distribution is incorporating 20,000 hours of content from Endemol and Southern star that covers several genres, including kids programming and animation. Its client portfolio will span some 400 broadcasters, licensees and producers.

Former Southern Star CEO Cathy Payne is taking the helm of the new entity as CEO, backed by Matt Creasey, executive sales director Americas, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and Veronique Verges, executive sales director EMEA.

EWD is opening new regional offices in Paris and Madrid, followed by Rome later this year and L.A. and Miami in 2010. Endemol’s existing offices in London, Sydney and Hong Kong will now house EWD in those cities.

Claire Taltas, sales director Benelux and French-speaking territories will operate out of Paris, while Gisela Asimus-Minnbergh is appointed sales director of Spain, Portugal, Italy and Africa based in Madrid and sales director Daniel Edwards is looking after Asia and Middle East from Hong Kong. Over in Australia and New Zealand, sales director Kirsten Cargill is also serving as brand manager for Hi-5. James Braham, sales director CEE, Holly Winder, sales director Nordic, and Cristina Sala, sales director Latin America, will all be working from the London office.

Endemol is also in the process of appointing an acquisitions executive to work out of L.A. in the next few months, who’ll be charged with increasing the company’s roster of North American third-party pickups.
