Animated action-adventure series Huntik: Secrets & Seekers is heading for the airwaves down under as Australia’s Network 10 and Southern Cross pick up the 52 x half-hour series.

Both nets have secured season one and two, which began airing at the end of May at 7 a.m., Monday to Friday. They’re also supporting the broadcast with a TV campaign from trading card licensee Upper Deck with 180 commercials over four weeks on Network 10, while 160 commercial spots began hitting the small screen on Southern Cross on June 1.

Meanwhile, Upper Deck will begin in-store playing demos this month, along with Huntik beginner tournaments at the Supa Nova Pop Culture Expo Sydney in conjunction with Dark Moon Fair.

The first Huntik DVD launch from Madman will hit retail on August 19 in Australia and New Zealand, to be backed by a TV campaign on Network 10 and Cartoon Network as well as PR campaigns in kids magazines and trade ads.

Merchantwise is Big Bocca’s rep for the property down under.
