American Greetings has been keeping busy on the licensee side, scooping up master social expressions licenses for HIT Entertainment and Paul Frank Industries properties.

For HIT, AG has will design, manufacture, distribute and market licensed social expression items, ranging from party supplies and greeting cards to seasonal items around HIT’s property portfolio. So product will feature a range of IPs, including Thomas and Friends and Bob the Builder and third-party properties, such as Fifi and the Flowertots and Wallace & Gromit. Ranges under the deal will start rolling out to US and Canadian mass and specialty party goods retailers in spring 2010.

Similarly, AG has signed a multi-year deal with Paul Frank Industries to develop a range of greeting cards, gift packaging, stickers and party goods based on PF’s 200-plus characters. Good should launch this fall at select retailers across the US.
