To launch the second season and new consumer products range of the popular boys action property, Turner Enterprises and toy retailer Hamleys are launching Ben 10: Alien Force Week at the toy retailer’s shops in London, Dublin and Dubai on March 9.
Hamleys’ flagship store on London’s Regent’s Street will lead the event with toy demos, in-store giveaways, a costume character visit (March 14) and a competition to win the entire window display of licensed goodies from Bandai.
Hamleys’ fifth floor also underwent a Ben 10: Alien Force transformation in February, which is when the retailer unveiled the window display. The activities are part of the retailer’s Cartoon Crazy events program.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond, Cartoon Network has begun production on the live-action movie Ben 10: Alien Swarm, set to premiere on the kidnet this coming fall. The original movie will be directed by Alex Winter, who returns from directing CN’s first live-action film foray Ben 10: Race Against Time, which attracted more than 13 million viewers in 2007.
Screenwriter John Turman, whose credits boast Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer and The Hulk, has penned the latest film instalment, which follows the teen hero Ben Tennyson as he breaks away from secret org the Plumbers that fights alien forces, to help a young woman, and Gwen and Kevin uncover another alien threat.
