To introduce American kids to classical music, Gateway4M International has signed a trio of US licensing partners for Wunderkind Little Amadeus, a series based on composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The Games Company has developed a game for the Nintendo DS, which will be distributed in the US and Europe by Atari, and will help kids learn about classical music as well as how to compose it.

Indie distributor of classical music Naxos of America is on board to release a DVD box set for season one (eps one through 13), as well the show’s CD soundtrack with Mozart’s pieces performed by renowned orchestras and soloists. Naxos will also rollout a season two (eps 15 to 26) DVD box set and another CD, Wunderkind Little Amadeus Presents ‘Mozart for Kids’, as well supporting Gateway4M’s US outreach activities.

And kids will be able to make their own music with licensed instrument from global toy partner Playgo, a manufacturer of toy musical instruments. The company is set to roll out 21 Little Amadeus instruments, including pianos, violins, recorders, drums and drum sets and music sets.

Product will be available at retail and through the online shop at www.little-amadeus.com beginning early this year.

The series is currently broadcast in 81 countries and is distributed in the US by American Public Television.
