Sanrio opens global consumer products division

The house of Hello Kitty, Sanrio, will be heading into licensing show next month with a brand-new global consumer products division headed up by Janet Han Hsu, who's taking the post of president.

The house of Hello Kitty, Sanrio, will be heading into licensing show next month with a brand-new global consumer products division headed up by Janet Han Hsu, who’s taking the post of president.

Han Hsu will also have a new right hand man in Roberto Lanzi. He’s been named president of the new division for EMEA. The pair is charged with forming strategic global alliances and expand existing international business for Sanrio.

Hsu will be responsible for the development and expansion of the division with a focus on licensing, new products and product categories, as well as new retail partnerships. In addition, she will concentrate on translating Hello Kitty and other Saniro IP into different platforms.

Hsu comes to Saniro from MGA Entertainment where she was SVP.
