As part of MTV Networks Latin America’s continued expansion plans in the region, the broadcaster is launching Nick Jr. Latin America, a 24/7 channel dedicated to preschoolers.
Nick Jr. is the first network in the region to offer multiplatform content via online, video on demand and broadband to the demo. The net is expected to launch in Mexico in July 2008 with close to 50% penetration of the country’s cable market via Cablevisión and Sky TV.
Additional distribution deals with other Latin American MSO’s and the channel’s premier date will be announced in the near future.
The net will feature the iconic Nickelodeon shows like Blue’s Clues and Dora the Explorer and relative newcomers Wonder Pets and Ni Hao Kailan, amongst others.
In addition, Nick Jr. Turbo will also launch in the region at www.nickturbo.com. The site will support the linear programming and offer 10 hours of new content each week, allowing children to watch shorts and complete episodes along with exclusive world premiers of Nick Jr. series.
