Lionsgate and Crest make multi-picture plans

Santa Monica, California-based Lionsgate has inked a multi-picture deal with Crest Animation Productions. First up is CGI theatrical release Alpha and Omega.

Lionsgate and Crest are co-financing and co-producing the project which is scheduled for theatrical release in 2010. The family film features two young wolves thrown together by circumstance and has already inked Hollywood A-listers Hayden Panetierre (Heros), Danny Glover and Easy Rider Dennis Hopper to voice the toon.

The film is currently in production, with pre and post-production taking place in L.A. and key animation at Crest Animation Studios in India. Lionsgate will distribute the film in North America and the UK. Mandate International will be launching international sales at the upcoming Cannes film festival for the rest of the world, excluding India.
