DHX Media has acquired all outstanding shares in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia-based Bulldog Interactive Fitness, a privately owned developer of children’s entertainment centers that provide a supervised play environment for kids age three to 14 and feature exercise equipment that incorporates video game tech like the Wii.

Bulldog currently has eight Canadian locations, and has opened three outlets in the last two months. DHX paid US$620,000 and 99,333 shares of DHX stock for the company.

The acquisition provides DHX Media’s core entertainment properties, including those created by subsidiaries Decode Entertainment, Halifax Films and Studio B Productions, with a new cross-promotional outlet and is in line with the company’s strategy to exploit its IP across new and emerging platforms.
