Leading UK-based indy producer Novel Entertainment has scored a commission from CITV to produce a second series of its Horrid Henry toon.

A further 52 x 11-minute eps of the 2-D animated series is going into production for broadcast on ITV1 and CITV in Spring 2009.

Based on the books written by Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross (published by Orion Children’s Books), more than 11 million copies of the published series have sold in the UK alone, and the titles are available in 27 countries.

The TV series has most recently sold to Disney Channel France, ZDF Germany, RTE Eire, RUV Iceland, SVT Sweden, NRK Norway and YLE Finland. Deals are also currently being negotiated for South Africa, Turkey and Portugal.
