The licensee list for both the new series Speed Racer: The Next Generation and the classic Speed Racer animated series continues to grow at a rapid pace.

New to the program is IMT Accessories, which will produce indoor and outdoor merchandise for both brands through subsidiary companies Monkey Business and Street Flyers. Monkey Business is designing indoor furniture, including beds, storage and organizing units, tables and chairs, while Street Flyers has bicycles and accessories, tricycles, skateboards, scooters, skates, protective gear and fishing rods in the works. The IMT goods will rollout during Q2 this year.

Additionally, Saramax Apparel Group now holds the boys sleepwear, underwear, pyjama, robe, blanket sleepers and boxer short license; goods are slated for mass retail this quarter. Star Ride Kids, meanwhile, is producing t-shirts, sweatshirts and sportswear for boys ages two to seven. And Hanes, Rubies Costume Company and DecoPac have also inked deals to create a variety of licensed goods under the Speed Racer banner.

Speed Racer : The Next Generation (26 x half hours) is slated to bow on Nicktoons Network in May 2008.
