Target inks new Nutcracker deal

Everything is coming up Tchaikovsky for Target Entertainment this holiday season. The company has signed another major licensing deal for upcoming feature film The Nutcracker: The Real Story.

Everything is coming up Tchaikovsky for Target Entertainment this holiday season.The company has signed another major licensing deal for upcoming feature film The Nutcracker: The Real Story.

As is fitting with the holiday theme of the story, Bloomingdale, Illinois-based manufacturer Roman is lined up to produce festive decorations, including seasonal ornaments, nutcrackers (surprise, not), 3-D figurines, snowglobes, night lights and yard décor. The products should be ready to roll out to major US retail channels in November 2008 to coincide with the release of the movie.

Based on the classic Nutcracker story, the film combines live action with CGI, and will feature a new slew of songs written by Sir Tim Rice.
