For anecdotal proof that pets in the US are close to assuming equal status with their human siblings in the eyes of their furless parents, look no further than the latest launch from toy retail giant Toys ‘R’ Us and Jakks Pacific. The pair is launching an extensive line of pet accessories, including doggy chew toys, clothing, beds, collars and so much more.

Jakks product lines for dogs sporting licenses from American Kennel Club Jr. and Totally My Pet and are now available at Toys ‘R’Us stores nationwide and online at www.toysrus.com.

The brand-new AKC Jr. line is based on the history and heritage of the American Kennel Club and features a fun, sporty theme that encourages kids to become actively involved caring for their pets and aims to promote good pet parenting skills from an early age.

The girl-skewing Totally My Pet focuses on fashion products that include everything rhinestone-studded clothes to plush toys that look like nail polish bottles.
