Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group has agreed to acquire UK-based gameco TT Games, the publisher behind the blockbuster Lego Star Wars titles that have been sitting atop video game sales charts since launching in 2005.

TT Games encompasses Traveller’s Tales, an independent game developer, and TT Games Publishing, the division responsible for the Lego-based games. The first title in the series, Lego Star Wars: The Videogame sold more than six million units worldwide.

Under the terms of the deal, TT Games will continue to manage its existing relationships with Lego, LucasArts, and Guinness World Records and Warner Bros. intends to make TT the cornerstone of its family-focused games strategy moving forward.

The closing of the acquisition is subject to the fulfillment of customary terms and conditions, including regulatory approval.
