Casual is the buzzword in gaming circles these days, so it’s not surprising that video game publisher Majesco Entertainment is opening up a development facility focused solely on creating games for the burgeoning market.

The Edison, New Jersey-based company has opened up a new shop in the L.A. area, and the studio will add valuable technical and design skills necessary to capturing a chunk of the casual gaming crowd.

Bill Petro has been appointed VP of internal development, responsible for building and overseeing studio operations. He moves over from video game giant Sega of America, where he was SVP of development, managing the company’s development efforts in North America.
